SENTEC PROGRAM

The SENTEC Program (Seniors Empowered with New Technology and Educational Coaching) is designed to bridge the digital divide by equipping seniors aged 55-100 with essential computer and technology skills. Through a supportive, hands-on learning environment, the program enhances independence, prevents isolation, and improves the quality of life for low-income seniors in our community. SENTEC is part of LWM’s ongoing effort to respond to the need for senior engagement and participation in the local community of Plainfield, NJ. We support senior residents aged 55+, including veterans, spouses, and widowers, by helping them acclimate productively in today’s fast-paced, technology-driven society and bridge the “disconnect” exacerbated by familiar conditions like hearing loss and cognitive decline. Our SENTEC Program offers seniors foundational technology skills using smartphones, computers, and tablets, and social platforms like Facebook and Zoom.

LWM has teamed up with ECode Learning Center based in Jersey City, a technology and eGaming tutoring organization that focuses on computer science and STEM education. In recent years, the organization has expanded its focus to include seniors, many of whom are raising their grandchildren or living with younger family members and need to communicate with them more effectively. Rasheed Chambers, who leads the center, is a Risk and Compliance Analyst with proven expertise in Information Systems Security, Risk Management, and Vulnerability Assessment. Under his tutelage, his team of dedicated experts works collaboratively to ensure “no one is left behind” in this digital age society. This collaboration between Living Water Ministries and Ecode Learning is at no cost to the program participants while equipping them with skills taught by industry experts and hands-on practice tutorials by “trained student coaches” in a familiar environment that brings them comfort.
